The Bass Pro Shops in Harlingen, TX opened in the Spring of 2011. The festive local atmosphere will be enhanced by the many amenities offered within the store including an Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl, General Store and Fudge Shop, as well as a walk-up ice cream shop. Outdoor display spaces, an amphitheater, and native landscaping create a unique and local flair for the area.

This store also contains the wildly popular, Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl, a six-lane bowling alley and restaurant. A full service bar splits the lanes, giving a unique perspective to both bowlers and spectators. The lanes are covered with a sea floor print while waves and marine animals spring to life. The space also features a refined billiard room themed and dedicated to the “Black Widow”.

The prototype format illustrates the ability of a unique, regionally themed store to also reap the rewards of some standardized construction features and techniques. This formula has been proposed for several store moving forward, as well as for some retrofit stores and restaurants.
